Steven Wilson posts update thanking fans for European tour
0Steven Wilson has posted a short update on his official website StevenWilsonHQ.com regarding the huge success of the European tour in March and the rehearsals for the upcoming USA/Canada/Mexico dates in April and May. He also mentions that a special vinyl release for Record Store Day will happen this year and more details will be available soon. We’ve posted his entire update below along with Hajo Mueller’s raven press conference cartoon.
A tremendous thank you to all those that came to the first European leg of The Raven that Refused To Sing tour, I can’t remember ever having had such a positive reaction to a new album before, so thank you everyone for continuing to follow my music as it continues on it’s merry and unpredictable way!
Next week we head to the USA to rehearse with our new drummer Chad Wackerman, and then to embark on 5 weeks of shows in North and South America. We’re also setting up daytime record store signing sessions in several cities (and once again there will be a special release in support of Record Store Day on 20th April, more about that shortly), so looking forward to meeting many of you out there.
We will also confirm and announce all of the European Summer festival appearances very soon.

Steven Wilson Signing Session in London
5Today I attended today’s ‘Grace for Drowning’ signing session in London, my second of the week! At the Oxford signing session on Tuesday, Steven expressed an interest in having a StarsDie.com t-shirt so I took the opportunity to jump on a train to London to hand deliver his shirt. There was a huge turnout at Sister Ray in Soho, with queues all around the shop, out the door and down the street. As I have said before, it’s really fantastic that Steven takes the time to do these sessions, as it’s a great opportunity for us fans to meet him personally, and get our stuff signed! Unsurprisingly, everyone I spoke to whilst there is planning on attending the upcoming Steven Wilson solo show at Shepherds Bush Empire on October 31st. Several people in-store took the opportunity to buy the limited edition 7″ vinyl dedicated to Tim Smith, which features Steven Wilson’s cover of Cardiac’s ‘Stoneage Dinosaurs’ and the Oceansize cover of ‘Fear’ a track by Spratley Japs. The release was limited to 2000 copies worldwide when it was released on Record Store Day, back in April. Overall, I had a great time today meeting fellow fans, and I can’t wait to meet even more at Shepherds Bush Empire in London for the only UK date of the ‘Grace for Drowning’ tour in October!
