Kscope have just announced on the twenty ninth edition of their post-progressive podcast that Porcupine Tree will be releasing ‘Octane Twisted’ a 2CD/DVD set on November 5th. The audio and video will be taken from the band’s show on 2nd May 2010 at the Riviera Theater, Chicago, which was one of the many shows on the tour in which ‘The Incident’ was performed in it’s entirety. The eleventh issue of the very popular Porcupine Tree fanzine, Carbon Nation, is now available to buy from their website, here. The new issue includes interviews with Steven Wilson, John Wesley, Richard Barbieri & Marillion’s Steve Hogarth. Also, Paul Ellis gives a behind the scenes account of Steven Wilson’s solo tour and of Burning Shed’s gig in Norwich, which featured Slow Electric & Ex-Wise Heads.
Steven Wilson has revealed via his Facebook page that his forthcoming 2012 tour dates will feature a change in personnel – Niko Tsonev will be stepping into the role previously taken by Aziz Ibrahim in Europe and John Wesley in the USA and Canada. I’ve posted his Facebook update below, along with an impressive video of Niko performing his own composition ‘Venetian Poison’. Steven Wilson also took the opportunity to say that the rest of the dates for the 2012 leg of the Grace for Drowning tour will be revealed any day now. We’ll have the dates and ticket information up on here the moment they are revealed, so stay tuned!
Folks, I’d like to introduce you to Niko Tsonev, who will be the new guitar player for the forthcoming SW tour (the rest of the band remains the same). Niko is a fantastically creative musician, and he fits in perfectly with the band. Check out the video clip of him playing one of his own compositions. Apologies for the delay in getting the rest of the European shows, and the North and South American tour dates confirmed, but these will be announced any day now – SW
Good news! Steven Wilson has updated his Facebook page with plans for an upcoming live album comprised of songs recorded over the first leg of his Grace for Drowning World Tour. The 70 minute live album CD will be available for mail order soon and available to buy at his upcoming shows across the USA and Europe as part of the second leg of the tour in April and May 2012.
