Porcupine Tree’s new live album ‘Octane Twisted’ is out now!
The day has finally come – Porcupine Tree have released ‘Octane Twisted‘ a new live album, which documents a performance of ‘The Incident’ in it’s entirety recorded live in Chicago. But that’s not all, the set also includes four extra songs from the same Chicago show, plus highlights from the band’s epic Royal Albert Hall gig in October 2010.
Burning Shed are selling an exclusive limited edition with a bonus DVD, which contains a concert film of ‘The Incident’. Below is a clip of ‘I Drive The Hearse’ taken from the bonus DVD, along with photo gallery of the (Burning Shed exclusive) 2CD/DVD packaging. If you haven’t already, get your copy here!

I’ll give Ross Bolidai props where props are due. I like some of the look and feel of the new DVD (judging only from the “I Drive the Hearse” clip), but he’s no Lasse Hoile. I get the feeling this one will bounce around too much to try to match the beat or changes in melody, much like a music video. Also, I was at that show. There are a few songs missing from the DVD which were played (you can confirm at setlist.fm). There was also some feedback problems a couple times, and just like the previous Chicago show from the Arriving Somewhere DVD, SW broke a guitar string during one of the songs and had a little chat with the audience while the guitar tech fixed him up. The Riviera is old and decrepit, but still retains much of the ambiance from former decades when it was an elegant music hall. Should be interesting. Mine was mailed last week, so it should be here (USA) any day now.
